What many people are unaware of is that there are different categories of diet pills. There are those that can be found online or at a health food store, those that are over the counter and those that are prescription only. The first can be purchased by just about anyone and user experiences vary, the otc pills are generally ones called alli which where former prescription only but have since been placed behind pharmacy shelves where you just have to ask for them. And lastly are prescription only weight loss drugs. These are FDA approved diet pills which have been proven affective but you also have to be prescribed them and they are generally only prescribed for those whose weight is negatively affecting their overall health. They also can come with side effects and must be taken only under a doctor’s care. Ultimately the choice is up to you if you decide you would like to try out a diet pill or not, however as pointed out, you may not have that choice with prescription based pills. But do be aware that there are claims being made with many of them that are outright misleading and wrong. Do your homework, perhaps talk to others who have used them and what to realistically expect. Also keep in mind that diet pills are not meant to be a be-all and end-all solution. They are meant to be a supplementation to a lifestyle that would naturally lead to weight loss.
